Cat in Black by =tigress-phan
Suggester writes: "I would never have thought a studio shot of a black cat with a black background could come out so amazing! The way the cat fades in to the background, but not enough to get lost in it, takes time and patience. The natural lighting works perfectly and doesn't make a harsh contrast. This is simply a beautiful piece of art."

I'm glad you enjoy them!
I use a black cloth as background, but for this photo, I couldn't place it far enough away from the cat to get a completely black background, so I 'helped' it a bit in photoshop.
extra lightning isn't really neccesary, as I used yet another cloth to cast a shadow over the black background (to ensure that it would be dark, and will not have reflections) and put the cat in the daylight.

it works really well,,,i would love to take some shots like this,,,we have recently aquired a little black cat, she was a stray and lived down on the stables for 3 months and was completly wild, but she is now the softest cat ever and stays in the house most of the time!! :D
